  3. The STO. NIŇO SPIRITUALITY CENTER of the Augustinian Province of Cebu-Philippines, located in Barangay Tolotolo, Consolacion, Cebu, finally opened its doors to the public with solemn blessing rites on January 15, 2009 officiated by Father General of the Order of St. Augustine, Robert Prevost, OSA. The blessing of the Center, was part of the closing activities of the Silver Jubillee celebration of the Province.
The main presider of the Solemn Vesper and the blessing proper at 4:00 PM, was the Prior General himself. On hand too to witness the blessing were Msgr. Julito Cortes, DD, another Auxiliary Bishop of Cebu, the friars of the Province, other Augustinians representing the OSA circumscriptions in the Asia and Pacific regions, and some others who participated in the morning Eucharistic celebration at the Sto. Nino Pilgrim Center for the closing of the Jubilee.
Present too, were representatives from civil government, headed by the mayor of the town of Consolacion, and members of other religious institutes who were not present in the morning celebration. The blessing was followed by a dinner-banquet held at the auditorium of the newly blessed Spirituality Center during which a video containing significant personalities and events in the life of the Province for the last 25 years was shown. To cap the celebration, songs were presented by some talented members of the Province and folkdances by nationally-known San Diego Dance Troupe.
